An anthology containing three feature-length Western stories starring Black Diamond, Buck Roper, and Red Fire. In the Black Diamond story, Deputy Polkar discovers a broken trail through a mountain pass and uses it to avoid an avalanche trap set by Dunstan's men, ultimately discovering that Dunstan caused the avalanche that killed one of his own men. In the Buck Roper story, Buck encounters a man named Lefty who claims to be an outlaw and attempts to trick Buck into a dangerous situation. In the Red Fire story, old Pete Norton sells his claim to a dog named Whiskers, leading to conflict with a man named Bluger over the claim's ownership and resulting in violence at Norton's cabin.
