Black Diamond Western #17 is an anthology featuring two main stories: "The Pit of the Killer Bear of Devil's Valley," in which Black Diamond pursues vengeance against Bumper at the hands of the Mad Master of Devil's Valley; and "Black Diamond in the Mystery of the Gold Mine and the Fallen Cave," involving a mystery surrounding gold and a collapsed cave.
