The six-issue miniseries born out of 52 and Countdown reaches its conclusion here, and Doug Mahnke's cover makes a striking final statement — a grotesquely decayed Black Adam, his costume still bearing that signature gold lightning bolt, stands defiantly in a storm-lashed ruin, lightning crackling around the glowing object clutched in his outstretched hand. The imagery is visceral and haunting, a figure stripped down to something barely human yet refusing to fall. Peter J.
