“What's in a Name?”

Betty's exasperated diary entry says it all on the cover of this 1989 Archie Series gem: "Lately Archie's kisses taste like baseball card gum!" Sure enough, a bubble-gum-blowing Archie sits completely absorbed in his baseball card album while Betty looks on with a mix of amusement and mild dismay — surrounded by stacks of baseball card albums scattered across the floor. Cover pencils by Dan DeCarlo and inks by Jim DeCarlo give the scene that warm, expressive Riverdale charm, with a small inset vignette of Betty confiding to her diary adding an extra personal touch.
