Betty and Me #10
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis October 1967 Archie Series gem delivers a perfectly timed visual gag across two panels: in the top scene, Betty cheerfully calls out to Archie — seated in his vintage red roadster — "Archie, I'll treat if you take me to a place that's a real gas!", while the bottom panel reveals the punchline as they pull into the decidedly unglamorous "SoSo Gas" station, much to Betty's dismay and a uniformed attendant's bemusement. Dan DeCarlo's pencils and Rudy Lapick's inks capture that warm, suburban-evening charm that made Riverdale feel like everyone's hometown, with a small beach scene vignette above the title adding a breezy summer touch. Frank Doyle's gift for gentle wordplay is right there on the cover, making this a delightful snapshot of Archie humor at its most playfully groan-worthy.
