Betty and Archie are at the movies in this December 1999 issue, sitting in a packed theater — only to discover the rain on screen is very much real, soaking the entire audience while Betty cheerfully exclaims, "Wow, Archie! Special effects are getting better all the time!" It's a wonderfully funny cover gag, rendered with warm charm by penciler Stan Goldberg and inker Henry Scarpelli. A great slice of Riverdale humor that makes this issue an easy pick for fans of the gang's everyday misadventures.
