Betty #63
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeBetty Cooper is front and center in her Riverdale jersey, mid-kick on the soccer field — though judging by Archie's stunned reaction and the starburst of impact lines, the ball wasn't exactly her only target. A blonde companion (Veronica, by the look of her) clings to Archie's arm while he splutters the cover's punchline, making this July 1998 issue a charming blend of sports action and the romantic comedy the series does so well. Stan Goldberg's pencils and Henry Scarpelli's inks give the whole scene that warm, expressive Riverdale energy that's always a pleasure to revisit.
