Mike Deodato Jr.'s cover for this 2019 Dark Horse series delivers an imposing, long-haired barbarian warrior standing atop rubble, clad in horned armor and a fur-trimmed cloak, gripping a blood-streaked broadsword against a smoldering amber sky. The beast-faced buckle at his waist and the debris scattered at his feet hint at a world where brutal conflict is simply the cost of survival. Jeff Lemire and Deodato Jr. make for a compelling creative pairing, and this second issue promises the same raw, sword-and-sorcery energy the cover so confidently radiates.
