Ben Reilly: Scarlet Spider #13

Part of Marvel's Legacy initiative, this 2018 issue heralds "The Slingers Return" with a cover by Khary Randolph that puts the Scarlet Spider squarely in the middle of the action — Ben Reilly crouches amid rubble and downed figures while a powerful, armored opponent looms over him in striking pink-and-silver regalia. The dynamic tension between the two costumed figures, set against a fire-lit urban backdrop with debris scattered at their feet, makes for a genuinely compelling image. With Peter David writing and Will Sliney on art, colored by Rachelle Rosenberg, this is a strong chapter in one of Marvel's more intriguing spider-titles of the era.
