Battlestar Galactica #16

The massive, menacing face of the Cylon Mark III dominates this June 1980 cover, its glowing red eyes and imposing helmet filling the frame as laser blasts tear through Colonial Vipers in the background — and the tagline "There Is No Comparison" leaves little doubt about the threat level. A Colonial warrior scrambles in the foreground, blaster drawn, caught squarely in the crossfire of what promises to be a bruising encounter in the story titled "Berserker." Walter Simonson's sharp linework and dynamic composition give the whole scene an urgent, cinematic energy that fits the TV series' space-opera spirit perfectly.
