The concluding chapter of "The Firefly and His Majesty" arrives with a cover by Garry Leach that sets a haunting tone: a massive German King Tiger tank looms through the rubble of a shattered church, while in the foreground a fallen crucifix — Christ figure still attached, bearing the INRI inscription — lies broken amid the debris. It's a striking image of war's collision with faith and civilization, and a fittingly heavy note on which Garth Ennis and Carlos Ezquerra close out their three-part World War II story. If the first two issues pulled you in, this third and final installment promises the kind of grim, earned resolution that Dynamite's Battlefields line does so well.
