Battlefield Action #51 is an anthology war comic featuring at least three stories. "Fireball" depicts soldiers in combat encountering explosive danger during what appears to be a Korean conflict. "Long Night" follows a soldier left behind in a Korean village who must evade enemy forces, ultimately moving quickly to avoid Chinese troops or face death. "The Bridge" presents a detailed narrative of four O.S.S. operatives—Frank Harper, Ben Sacks, Jim Cahan, and Frank Dyer—dropped behind enemy lines in France during World War II to destroy a strategically vital bridge heavily fortified by Nazi forces. "Fatso" tells of a mess sergeant whose practical jokes and resourcefulness help sustain company morale during combat, though he eventually faces court-martial.
