Batman escapes from the White Lantern ring, but Vandal Savage is chosen as the new possessor of the ring. Vandal Savage uses the power of the White Lantern ring to make the universe forget about Batman, so it is Bruce Wayne, with the help of Deathstroke and the Riddler, who tracks down Savage, only to have both Vandal and Bruce trapped in the ring. Bruce's memory of Batman is restored, and Batman pursues Vandal Savage across time and space to recover the White Lantern ring.
