Batman: The Detective #3

Part three of this six-issue miniseries puts Batman in immediate, visceral danger — the cover by Andy Kubert (inked by Andy Kubert, colored by Brad Anderson) places the Dark Knight locked in a brutal face-to-face struggle with a heavily armored, knife-wielding adversary, the blade raised and the tension palpable. Both figures are pressed impossibly close, capes and armor tangled together in a composition that feels genuinely breathless.
