Batman / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II #5

The penultimate chapter of this DC/IDW crossover event brings the stakes to a fever pitch, with Freddie Williams II's cover depicting Batman and Nightwing flanking Batgirl and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as they charge forward against an enormous, toxin-dripping Mutagen Man looming behind them — flanked by what appears to be a horde of mutated figures. Five issues in, James Tynion IV and Ryan Ferrier's story has assembled quite the unlikely alliance, and with a threat this large consuming the background, it's clear the team has their work cut out for them. A satisfying blend of two beloved universes, this 2018 series continues to deliver the kind of crossover energy fans of both franchises can genuinely appreciate.
