Batman / Superman: World's Finest #12

Dan Mora's cover for issue #12 says it all: Robin and Supergirl are mid-shriek at what appears to be a spectacularly disastrous dinner date, flames licking the table in front of them while startled bystanders look on — and, to top it off, Batman and Superman are swooping in through the glass above, presumably to the rescue. The cover blurb "Robin and Supergirl on… The Date from Hell!" perfectly captures the chaotic, comedic energy on display. With Mark Waid writing and Emanuela Lupacchino on interior art, "Scream of the Chaos Monkey" promises a delightful mix of superhero action and off-duty awkwardness that World's Finest has been delivering so well in 2023.
