Batman / Superman #14

From the New 52 era of DC Comics, Batman/Superman #14 arrives in December 2014 with one of the more quietly striking covers in the run — Jae Lee's artwork pairing Superman face-to-face with Catwoman in an almost dreamlike moment, surrounded by dangling stars and a crescent moon with a human face, while a shadowy bat-clawed hand reaches in from the left and a black cat lurks at the lower right. The contrast between Superman's fully rendered, colorful figure and Catwoman rendered in near-silhouette gives the image a theatrical, storybook quality that's hard to shake. Writer Greg Pak and artist Diógenes Neves bring their talents to the interior of this "Blank Slate" chapter, promising an adventure where the World's Finest partnership may be more complicated than usual.
