Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #53

Part two of "Tao" arrives with a cover that immediately commands attention — a cloaked Batman stands with his back to us, cape spread wide, facing an enormous serpentine dragon that coils and lunges across a warm golden background accented by stylized clouds. Arthur Ranson's cover art gives the confrontation a quietly mythic weight, the dragon's scaled body and bared fangs filling nearly the entire composition while Batman's silhouette holds its ground below. It's a striking visual promise from this 1993 Legends of the Dark Knight arc, with Alan Grant and Ranson bringing a distinctly Eastern aesthetic to Gotham's Dark Knight.
