Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #212

Batman looms enormous against a crimson Gotham sky on this January 2007 issue of Legends of the Dark Knight, his cape spread wide like wings over the city's rooftops as glowing yellow eyes cut through the shadows — it's a wonderfully atmospheric image from cover artist Cliff Chiang. The animated-style rendering gives the Dark Knight a bold, almost elemental presence, equal parts protector and predator. Writer Adam Beechen, artist Steve Scott, and inker Nathan Massengill bring the interior story, "Chicks Dig the Bat," making this a fun package for fans of character-driven Batman tales.
