Collecting the next chapters of this Japanese-inspired take on the Dark Knight, the volume features appearances by key members of the Bat-family and the Justice League, including Dick Grayson as Robin, Barbara Gordon, Superman, Wonder Woman, and The Flash, as well as classic rogues like The Joker, The Riddler, Two-Face, and Scarecrow. The story explores themes of legacy and redemption as Batman must once again protect Gotham City alongside his allies.
In "Chapter 23: Somebody," Batman faces a chilling twist when Commissioner Gordon reveals that the man claiming to be Joe Chill—escaped from Arkham and now calling himself The Joker—is not who he seems. With Dick Grayson stepping into the role of Robin and young Barbara Gordon confronting an unexpected AI named Oracle, Batman must confront his own past while reluctantly answering Superman’s call to join the Justice League. Written by Eiichi Shimizu and Sheldon Drzka, with art by Tomohiro Shimoguchi and lettering by Wes Abbott, this 2025 issue marks a pivotal moment in the series, all wrapped in a striking cover by Tomohiro Shimoguchi.
