Batman: GCPD #2

Part two of four in this 1996 miniseries puts the spotlight squarely on the men and women keeping Gotham's streets in line — and the cover makes that point with attitude. Harvey Bullock dominates the image, cigar clenched in a grinning sneer as he thrusts his Gotham City Police Detective badge toward the viewer, his bank card bearing his name tucked just below for good measure. With cover pencils by Rodolfo Damaggio and inks by Bill Sienkiewicz, it's a confident, street-level portrait that signals Chuck Dixon and Jim Aparo's "Midnight Blue" is very much a cop's story.
