Batman Confidential #4

The fourth chapter of "Rules of Engagement" arrives with a cover that says it all — Batman stands defiant at the center of a massive fiery explosion, his cape spread wide as debris and streaks of flame erupt outward around him, and the bold tagline "Blown Away!" hangs in the corner like a dare. Whilce Portacio and Richard Friend deliver a striking image that radiates tension, the Dark Knight's silhouette unshaken against the blazing orange chaos surrounding him. Andy Diggle's arc is clearly building toward something intense, and this 2007 installment makes a compelling case for picking up the whole series.
