Batman Beyond #7
Titled "McGinnis' Secret," this May 2000 issue of the animated-universe series puts Terry McGinnis front and center — literally — as he squares off against a pale, fanged, bat-eared creature in a dizzying spiral of red and orange, with the looming silhouette of Batman Beyond watching over the confrontation from above. The swirling, hypnotic background gives the cover a wonderfully surreal energy, and the cover art by Bob Smith and Terry Beatty captures the sleek animated style perfectly. With Hilary J. Bader scripting and Min Sung Ku on interior art, this is a solid chapter in DC's future-Gotham saga that fans of the WB animated series will want on their shelf.
