Batman and the Outsiders #27
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe Outsiders take the fight to the stars in this November 1985 issue, with Batman locked in fierce hand-to-hand combat against a gold-and-green-costumed opponent amid a starfield backdrop — while below them, teammates in yellow-and-green uniforms and a figure with flowing blonde hair clash near what appears to be a space station, energy blasts lighting up the void. Alan Davis's cover crackles with kinetic energy, staging the whole team across a sprawling cosmic battlefield, and the cheeky corner box — "We call it 'War Stars!' (or we'd get sued!)" — shows Mike W. Barr and Davis weren't above having a little fun with the title. It's an entertainingly self-aware package that captures everything that made this era of DC team books such a good time.
