Nachdem er von seinen jüngsten Kämpfen erschöpft ist, erwacht Batman aus einem 8-wöchigen Schlaf. Er stellt fest, dass während seiner Abwesenheit die Kriminalität zurückgegangen ist, da die großen Schurken nicht in der Lage sind, genügend Handlanger anzuheuern, um ihre Verbrechen durchzuführen. Bald erfährt er, dass Catwoman dafür verantwortlich ist. Sie macht der Bat-Familie den Vorschlag, ihr zu erlauben, ihre Operationen fortzusetzen, die dazu geführt haben, die Stadt sicherer zu machen, aber Batman weigert sich, auf ihr Angebot einzugehen, was die beiden in Streit bringt.
