Batman #5
This volume collects issues #118-121 of the 2022 Batman series, continuing the storyline from the previous installment. Written by Joshua Williamson with art by Howard Porter and others, it features Batman facing a new threat tied to the mysterious 'Abyss' and the return of a classic villain.
In this gripping installment of James Tynion IV’s acclaimed run, Batman faces off against the relentless Peacekeeper-01, a force carrying out Simon Saint’s chilling agenda. With Gotham reeling from a bombing at City Hall and Mayor Nakano turning to Saint’s Magistrate for order, Batman must evade capture and rally allies—including Ghost-Maker and Harley Quinn—before Peacekeeper-01 turns his sights on Miracle Molly and the Unsanity Collective. Jorge Jiménez’s dynamic art, rendered in bold inks and vivid colors by Tomeu Morey, brings every shadowed alley and high-stakes confrontation to life, while Clayton Cowles’ sharp lettering keeps the tension crackling. The cover, also by Jiménez, captures the moment’s intensity with a striking, moody composition.
