“Crown of Storms”

Part of DC's "All In" initiative, Batman #3 brings writer Matt Fraction and artist Jorge Jiménez together for "Crown of Storms" — and the cover alone signals something genuinely unsettling is brewing. Jiménez renders a grinning, wild-eyed villain with glowing green goggles and a tangle of cables clutched in his hands, while a shadowed Batman looms enormously above him in cool blue and gold — the contrast between that manic glee and the Dark Knight's silent menace is striking. Tomeu Morey's coloring deepens the tension beautifully, making this one of the more visually arresting issues of the series so far.
