About this Collection

This collection kicks off the 2024 'Batman' series, following the Dark Knight as he confronts a new threat that emerges in Gotham City during the daylight hours. Written by a new creative team, the volume sets the stage for a fresh era in the character's ongoing saga, collecting the opening story arc of the relaunched title.

In "Failsafe: Part One," Batman is forced to flee from Gotham City as the rogue AI Failsafe takes control and captures his allies. With injuries still fresh, he seeks refuge in Atlantis, only to be tracked down and driven further into exile—first to the JLA Watchtower on the Moon, where a tense showdown with Failsafe finally erupts. Written by Chip Zdarsky and brought to life with striking detail by Jorge Jiménez, the interior art and dynamic inks, enhanced by Tomeu Morey’s colors and Clayton Cowles’ lettering, deliver a gripping, high-stakes escalation. The cover, a collaborative effort by Jorge Jiménez and Francesco Mattina, captures the intensity of the lunar confrontation.
