Batgirl hits the open road in this September 2005 issue, and Amanda Conner's cover perfectly sets the tone: Cassandra stands cool and composed beside her sleek motorcycle in front of a roadside "Chompin' Chug Bar & Grill," while an enormous, snarling bruiser looms menacingly behind her — seemingly unbothered by the size difference. The "Queasy Rider" tagline and story title "Hitting Pavement" promise a highway-flavored adventure with Andersen Gabrych writing and Andy Kuhn on interior art. It's a sun-baked, desert-highway setup that makes you want to flip the page immediately.
