Part of DC's 2013 New 52 line, this "Requiem" issue delivers one of the more quietly devastating covers of the era — Batgirl, head bowed and tears streaming down her cheeks, with a small robin perched gently on her shoulder. Cover artist Mikel Janín renders the image with real emotional weight, the robin's symbolism impossible to miss against Barbara's grief-stricken expression. Ray Fawkes scripts "The Mask of Ashes" with Daniel Sampere on interior art, making this a compelling entry in the New 52 Batgirl run.
