Bat Lash #3
DC's 2008 revival of the charming frontier rogue Bat Lash hits its midpoint with issue #3, and Walter Simonson's cover says everything you need to know about the trouble our hero has landed in — Bat Lash's steely blue eyes glare out from behind jail bars, fists gripping the iron as two revolvers are leveled directly at him from either side. With the tagline "Necktie Party!" looming overhead, the stakes of this "Hang 'Em High!" chapter feel bracingly real. Writers Sergio Aragonés and Peter Brandvold, paired with artist John Severin, bring a knowing authenticity to this Western yarn that fans of the genre will find hard to resist.
