Barks Library Special - Fähnlein Fieselschweif #1
This volume collects classic Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge stories centered on the Junior Woodchucks (Fähnlein Fieselschweif), featuring Huey, Dewey, and Louie alongside Donald, Daisy, Scrooge, and Pluto. Part of the Barks Library Special series from Egmont Ehapa, it highlights Carl Barks' adventurous and humorous tales from the 1950s and 1960s.
A 2001 Barks Library Special featuring Carl Barks as both writer and artist, this issue presents a whimsical adventure titled "Das Fähnlein Fieselschweif bannt die Gefahr für den Bärenforst," with additional writing by Johnny Grote and inking by John Carey. The story brings together Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Dagobert Duck, Pluto, and the trio of young explorers Tick, Track, and Trick in a lighthearted tale set in the Bärenforst. The cover, also by Carl Barks, showcases the group in their signature style.
In "Walverwandschaften," a massive whale stranded by a tidal wave becomes the center of a tense standoff on Scrooge's land. While Scrooge sees it as a valuable source of oil and blubber, the Junior Woodchucks are equally determined to protect the creature, setting up a clash between greed and compassion.
