Bang! Tango #3

The third chapter of Vertigo's mature-readers crime series arrives with a striking Howard Chaykin cover that says everything without saying a word: a confident blonde woman in a form-fitting lace bodysuit spreads enormous purple butterfly wings against a soft blue field scattered with smaller butterfly silhouettes — a visual translation of the chapter title "La Mariposa" that's equal parts elegant and unsettling. Joe Kelly's story, brought to life by Adrian Sibar and Rodney Ramos, promises the same blend of danger and style the series has been delivering. Three issues in, Bang! Tango continues to feel like one of 2009's most stylishly crafted Vertigo entries.
