The Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense takes on some of its most grotesque adversaries yet in this 2008 Dark Horse opener. Mike Mignola's cover depicts a muscular, grey-skinned agent surging upward through a swarming mass of frog monsters — their glowing eyes and grasping claws pressing in from every angle as he hoists one aloft with a single raised fist. With John Arcudi writing, Herb Trimpe on interior art, and Guy Davis lending his ink work, this first chapter of "War on Frogs" promises the kind of weird, hard-fought paranormal action the B.P.R.D. does best.
