The Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense heads deeper into dangerous territory with this 2007 Dark Horse chapter of Killing Ground. Guy Davis's cover is genuinely unsettling — a gaunt, shadowy creature with glowing eyes lurches through a blood-red doorway above a figure whose face is split between human and something far more monstrous, one yellow eye gleaming with feral intensity. With Mike Mignola and John Arcudi driving the story and Davis handling both pencils and inks, this issue promises the kind of creeping dread the B.P.R.D. series does so well.
