While researching on the internet, Sakaki finds a story about an Iriomote Wildcat killed in an accident and recognizes it as the mother cat she befriended on the class trip. Traveling home with Chiyo, Sakaki and her friend are ambushed by Kamineko, who has assembled all of the stray cats into a gang. But Sakaki is saved by a surprise newcomer.
