Kiyohiko Azuma

Kiyohiko Azuma, born May 27, 1968, in Japan, is a manga artist best known for his mastery of the four-panel comic form. He first gained widespread recognition with *Azumanga Daioh*, a yonkoma comedy series serialized from 1999 to 2002 that was later adapted into an anime by J.C.Staff. The work was celebrated for its humor, driven by eccentric characters, and established Azuma as a skilled practitioner of comic timing and clean, expressive art.

In 2003, he launched *Yotsuba&!*, a slice-of-life series following the daily adventures of a five-year-old girl, serialized in *Dengeki Daioh*. The manga earned critical and popular acclaim for its writing, character development, and Azuma’s artistic talent, receiving multiple awards and nominations. Over his career, he has been credited as artist, writer, colorist, and inker on 27 issues, with his most prominent titles being *Yotsuba&!* and *Azumanga Daioh*.
