Azrael: Agent of the Bat #53

The Joker dominates this cover with his manic grin and a handful of colorful jellybeans, while a restrained Azrael struggles in the background — and the speech bubble makes it perfectly clear these innocent-looking candies may spell doom for the armored hero. Part of DC's 1999 "No Man's Land" storyline, this issue by Dennis O'Neil with art by Roger Robinson and inks by James Pascoe pits Azrael against one of Gotham's most unpredictable villains in a premise as delightfully absurd as it is genuinely menacing. "Jellybean Deathtrap" is exactly the kind of story that reminds you why the Clown Prince of Crime is so hard to outsmart.
