The cover says it all — Azrael, red-masked and armored fists blazing, crashes through a vehicle's windshield while a gun-toting figure fires back from inside, the whole scene wreathed in dramatic flame. That cover tag teasing "Azrael and Hitman! The Team-Up You Never Expected! (And Frankly, Neither Did They!)" sets a tone that's equal parts action and self-aware fun. Writer Denny O'Neil and cover artists Roger Robinson and James Pascoe deliver a 1997 issue that promises one of DC's more unlikely partnerships in "The Angel and the Hitman.
