Tied into DC's 1997 Genesis crossover event, this issue of Azrael carries the tagline "Hour of the Demon!" — and the cover by Roger Robinson (inked by James Pascoe) makes that promise vivid. Two armored figures clash mid-air above a city roofline, one in green-and-gold armor, the other in a red cape and dark costume, both surrounded by coiling ribbons of supernatural flame. Writer Dennis O'Neil and artist Vince Giarrano bring their signature intensity to a series that always balanced the sacred and the dangerous.
