Azrael #2
The second issue of DC's 2010 Azrael series, written by Fabian Nicieza with art by Ramón Bachs, opens with a cover by Jock that sets a genuinely unsettling tone: the armored, red-and-white-masked Azrael lies prone in the foreground while a dark, robed figure looms over him from above, strings trailing from its hands against a deep crimson sky. The composition does a wonderful job of placing the hero in a position of vulnerability, teasing the weight of "Ghost in the Light" without giving anything away. If you're following this moody, atmospheric corner of the DC Universe, this issue's cover alone makes a compelling case for picking it up.
