“Surhomme en péril”

"Surhomme en péril" presents a pivotal origin moment in the Captain America mythos, as writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby—joined by inker Frank Ray—chronicle the birth of the super-soldier Steve Rogers. Under the secret "Opération Renaissance" led by President Roosevelt, Dr. Erskine transforms Rogers into a peak human, only for the project to be threatened by a Nazi assassin. With the help of his new ally Bucky, Rogers rises as Captain America, ready to fight for freedom. The cover by Jack Kirby captures the intensity of this defining moment.
