Avenging Spider-Man #12
Few team-ups have ever looked quite this awkward: the cover by Shane Davis and Mark Morales drops a battered Spider-Man and an equally roughed-up Deadpool onto a principal's office bench — both visibly torn up, arms crossed, staring straight ahead like two kids waiting for detention — while a bewildered school official peeks out from behind a cracked door. There's even a rubber chicken on the floor, which tells you everything you need to know about how this partnership went. Writer Kevin Shinick and artist Aaron Kuder, with colors by Matt Hollingsworth, bring this wonderfully absurd 2012 team-up to life with a sense of humor that's hard to resist.
