Avengers West Coast #57

The tagline says it all — "Family Reunion!" — and this April 1990 cover by John Byrne delivers the drama in full, placing Magneto front and center in his full red-and-purple regalia while the Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, and Iron Man tumble and clash in the chaos behind him. There's a charged, unsettling energy to seeing this particular trio of characters converging against a stark black background, with the Avengers West Coast clearly caught in the middle of something very personal. Byrne's clean, dynamic linework gives the whole scene a sense of motion and tension that makes it hard not to flip straight to page one.
