Avengers Undercover #9

The cover of this 2014 Marvel series installment says it all: a purple-clad figure leaps through the air, blade in hand, bearing down on a massive, screaming Baron Zemo whose red-masked face dominates the foreground in unsettling close-up. Francesco Mattina's painted cover work gives the confrontation a cinematic tension, with debris scattering around the two combatants against a stark white sky. Dennis Hopeless continues "Going Native, Part Four" with art by Timothy Green II and colors by Jean-Francois Beaulieu — a creative team that's been delivering some of Marvel's most gripping teen-hero drama all series long.
