Avengers Two: Wonder Man & Beast #1

Marvel's beloved odd couple takes center stage in this first issue of their 2000 limited series, with Wonder Man — arms crossed confidently in his black-and-red costume — and a powerfully crouching Beast dominating the foreground, while a rich collage of fellow Avengers faces (including Captain America, the Scarlet Witch, and others) fills the flanking panels behind them. The cover by Bagley and Adams captures the easy chemistry between these two fan-favorite friends, hinting at the camaraderie that has always made them a natural pairing. Written by Roger Stern with art by Mark Bagley, this opener — "Second Chances" — is a fine invitation to spend some quality time with two of the Avengers' most personable heavy-hitters.
