Avengers A.I. #12

The "Finale" banner says it all — Sam Humphries and artist André Lima Araújo's run on Avengers A.I. comes to a close with issue #12, and David Marquez's cover gives it a fittingly dramatic send-off. Five figures are arranged in bold vertical color-bands: a confident blond man at upper left, a long-haired figure beside him, a striking woman with spiky blond hair at center, a dark-haired woman, and — lurking in green shadow at the far right — a hooded, red-eyed armored figure whose presence carries an unmistakable air of menace. Frank D'Armata's vivid, distinct color palette for each panel gives the composition a sense of both unity and tension, making this a satisfying visual cap to the series.
