“Chapter One”

In "Chapter One" of Avalon High: Coronation #3, high school football star Will grapples with a startling truth: he might be the reincarnated King Arthur, with his friends and foes echoing the legends of old. As the Hunter's Moon approaches and the homecoming dance looms, Mr. M. warns Will that embracing his destiny within hours could be the key to saving civilization—though Marco and Morgan stand in his way, and Ellie remains his steadfast protector. Written by Meg Cabot and illustrated by Jinky Coronado and Larry Tuazon, with inks by both and lettering by Michael Paolilli, the cover by Jinky Coronado captures the tension of a mythic turning point.

High school football star Will may be the reincarnation of King Arthur, while others of Arthur's circle may be reincarnated in Will's circle. Certainly Ellie loves and protects him, while Marco and Morgan hate and threaten them both. But Mr. M. insists that Will must embrace his Arthur identity or civilization will be destroyed. And he must do so within hours, as the Hunter's Moon rises (which is also the night of the homecoming dance).
