“Chapter One”

In "Chapter One" of Avalon High: Coronation #2, high-school football star Will Wagner faces a chilling reality: if he’s truly the reincarnated King Arthur, then the boy who tried to kill him and his girlfriend Ellie—now free from the mental hospital—might be Mordred returned. With Ellie torn between loyalty and fear, the fragile balance of their mythic roles begins to unravel in the quiet tension of a park at dusk. Written by Meg Cabot and illustrated by Jinky Coronado, with cover art by Jinky Coronado and James Lee, this issue deepens the mystery of destiny and identity in a world where legend walks among the students.

High-school football star Will Wagner may be the reincarnation of King Arthur, with those in his circle playing the roles from Arthur's circle. Girl friend Ellie seems to play the protective role of the Lady of the Lake, while half-brother Marco, who tried to kill both Ellie and Will, plays the role of Mordred. Marco was sent to a mental hospital, so Ellie is terrified when he confronts her alone in the park, shockingly at large.
