Charlton's war anthology Attack delivers intense battlefield drama in this May 1973 issue, with a cover by Jack Keller that drops you right into the chaos — a desperate soldier scrambling out of a star-marked tank as flames and smoke engulf the battlefield around him, an enemy tank bearing down in the distance. The soldier's anguished cry ("They're all dead — and I'm gonna cook in this tincan if I don't get out!") and the teaser for "Where's the War?" make it clear this twenty-cent comic packs serious tension. With Joe Gill writing and Charles Nicholas and Vince Alascia on interior art, fans of gritty combat storytelling will find plenty to appreciate here.
